The Wood Collection
We work with a rotating selection of exotic hardwoods that are organized into three collections: The Classic, The Signature, and The Reserve. Reflections of differences in rarity, visual character, and the nature of the wood itself. Because no two pieces of wood are identical, no two Divsmith tools are identical.
Our first release is intentionally small while each tool is shaped, finished and assembled by hand. Available while this batch lasts.
The Classic - $65
The foundational hardwoods. Chosen for their honest grain, their warmth and their ability to age beautifully over years of use.
MAPLE
Clean, pale, and quietly beautiful. Maple's fine, consistent grain lets the craftsmanship of the handle take center stage. No drama, just quality.
{Acer saccharum}
WALNUT
The benchmark of American hardwood. Dark, rich, and deeply familiar to anyone who appreciates fine woodworking. Walnut's straight grain and warm chocolate tones make it the most universally appealing wood in the collection.
{Juglans nigra}
SPANISH CEDAR
Don't let the name fool you. Spanish cedar is not a true cedar, and it's anything but ordinary. Aromatic, lightweight, and warm in tone, it has a fine, straight grain with occasional figuring that photographs beautifully.
{Cedrela odorata}
AFRICAN MAHOGANY
Open-grained, warm, and deeply handsome. African mahogany has a ribbon figure that gives the handle a quiet elegance. This is the wood of fine furniture and traditional boat building. Rich reddish-brown tones that deepen beautifully with age.
{Khaya ivorensis}
The Signature - $75
A step beyond. These are woods with distinct personality. Each brings a specific warmth or character that sets it apart from the familiar.
YELLOWHEART
Vivid, saturated, and impossible to ignore. Yellowheart's bright canary-yellow tone is entirely natural. No stain, no treatment, just the wood. It mellows slightly over time to a rich gold that's unlike anything else in the collection.
{Pouteria spp}
TEAK
One of the most celebrated hardwoods in the world, Teak is known for its natural oils, its dimensional stability, and its ability to resist the elements. Warm golden-brown tones with a straight, clean grain.
{Tectona grandis}
BUBINGA
A large African hardwood that produces some of the most spectacular figures available in any species. Bubinga ranges from warm pink-red to deep reddish-brown, often with a pronounced ribbon or wavy figure that catches light dramatically.
{Guibourtia demeusei}
WENGE
Dark, almost severe, and completely distinctive. Wenge's near-black tone is broken by fine light-colored lines running through the grain. The heaviest-feeling wood in the collection.
{Millettia laurentii}
The Reserve - $85
The top of the collection. Rare figures, vivid colors, dramatic grains. The Reserve is for the golfer who wants a tool that is genuinely unlike anything else.
PURPLEHEART
The wood speaks for itself. A deep, saturated violet-purple that is entirely natural and unlike any other hardwood on earth. Dense and hard, Purpleheart holds detail beautifully and develops a rich, deeper tone over time.
{Peltogyne spp}
BLOODWOOD
Named for its vivid, saturated red — a color so intense it reads almost unreal in photographs but is entirely natural. Bloodwood is extremely dense and finishes to a deep, lacquer-like sheen.
{Brosimum rubescens}
ZEBRAWOOD
Bold, graphic, and impossible to mistake. Zebrawood's dramatic alternating light and dark stripes are one of nature's most striking patterns, and every handle shows them differently depending on how the board was cut.
{Microberlinia brazzavillensis}
LEOPARDWOOD
The most visually complex wood in the collection. Leopardwood's distinctive spotted figure (a result of the wood's ray structure catching light) creates a pattern that genuinely resembles its namesake.
{Roupala montana}
